Terms and conditions

The terms that apply when you use this website or take a course with ESL Hub.

Last updated: 2 October 2026

1. About these terms

ESL Hub (“we”, “us”) provides English language training from Almere, Netherlands. You can reach us at info@esl-hub.com.

These terms apply to your use of esl-hub.com and to every course, lesson, consultation and assessment we provide. We send you these terms with the written confirmation of your course, before you accept it. If your confirmation says something different from these terms, the confirmation applies.

“You” means the student, or the person or organisation that books a course for the student. Sections that mention consumers apply only if you book for yourself, not for your business.

2. Using this website

We try to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but it is general information, not an offer. Course content, formats and availability can change. Information about IELTS, PTE and Cambridge exams is a summary; always check the current rules, fees and requirements with the official exam provider and with the university, employer or authority you are applying to.

3. Free consultation and level assessment

The consultation and level assessment are free and carry no obligation. They help us recommend a course; they are not an official exam result.

4. Booking a course

Sending the registration form is a request, not a booking. After your consultation we send you a written confirmation by email with the course, program length, lesson format, schedule, price and payment terms. The agreement starts when you accept that confirmation, by replying to it or by paying. If you want lessons to start within 14 days, tell us so when you accept (see section 6).

If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must accept the confirmation.

5. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in euros and include any VAT that applies. The price in your confirmation is the price you pay.
  • Unless your confirmation says otherwise, you pay the full price before the course starts, within 14 days of our invoice.
  • If a payment is late, we send you a reminder giving you at least 14 more days to pay. If you are a consumer, we only charge collection costs after that, and only as Dutch law allows.
  • Exam fees are not included. You book and pay for your IELTS, PTE or Cambridge exam yourself, with the official test centre.

6. Your right to cancel within 14 days (consumers)

As a consumer, you can cancel the agreement within 14 days of accepting the confirmation, without giving a reason. To cancel, email us at info@esl-hub.com with your name and the course you are cancelling, or use the model cancellation form below. You only need to send it before the 14 days end.

We refund everything you paid within 14 days of receiving your cancellation, using the same payment method unless you agree otherwise.

If you ask us to start lessons within the 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the lessons you have already had, in proportion to the full course price. If you asked us to start and the whole course has been given within the 14 days, you can no longer cancel.

7. Lessons, rescheduling and missed lessons

  • Rescheduling one-to-one lessons: tell us at least 24 hours before the lesson and we will move it to another time. If you cancel later or don’t attend, the lesson counts as taken, unless you could not attend because of circumstances outside your control, such as sudden illness.
  • Group lessons go ahead at the agreed times. A missed group lesson can’t be repeated one-to-one, but we will share the materials and homework.
  • If we cancel a lesson, for example because the teacher is ill, we reschedule it at a time that suits you. If we can’t, we refund that lesson.
  • Program period: lessons should be taken within the period stated in your confirmation. Lessons we cancelled are always rescheduled or refunded.
  • Online lessons: you need a working device, camera, microphone and internet connection. Lessons are not recorded unless everyone in the lesson agrees.

8. Ending a course early

You can end your course at any time by emailing us. You pay for lessons already given and materials already provided, and we refund the rest of what you paid within 14 days. This does not affect your right to cancel within 14 days under section 6.

We can end the course if you don’t pay after a reminder, or if a student seriously or repeatedly behaves in a way that makes lessons impossible, such as abusive behaviour. We will warn you first where we reasonably can, and refund lessons that have not been given.

9. Results

We teach with care and do our best to help you reach your goal, but we can’t guarantee an exam score or result. IELTS, PTE and Cambridge exams are set and marked by independent organisations, and your result also depends on your own practice. We are not responsible for decisions made by universities, employers or immigration authorities.

The certificate you receive at the end of a course is an ESL Hub certificate of completion. It is not an official exam certificate.

10. Course materials

The lesson materials, worksheets, mock tests and feedback we give you are for your own study. Please don’t copy, share, sell or publish them. Published books and official practice tests belong to their publishers; if your course uses a book you need to buy, we tell you in your confirmation.

11. Liability

If we fail to do what we agreed, tell us first so we can put it right, for example by giving extra lessons. If we are liable for damage, our liability is limited to the price of your course. This limit does not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, to death or personal injury, or to any other liability that Dutch law does not allow us to limit. As a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights.

12. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with a lesson or with our service, please email info@esl-hub.com and describe the problem. We will reply within 14 days. Most problems can be solved by talking them through.

13. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is explained in our privacy policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version you accepted with your confirmation applies to your course; changes only apply to a course you have already booked if you agree to them.

15. Law and disputes

These terms and our agreements are governed by Dutch law. If we can’t settle a dispute together, it goes to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country, and you can also take the dispute to the courts where you live.

16. Booking for a business

If an employer or other organisation books a course, sections 6 and 8 don’t apply; the cancellation and payment terms are those in the confirmation. Section 11 applies with this addition: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit.
