Target score
Frequently asked questions
How is PTE Academic scored?
Scores run from 10 to 90, and the test is marked by AI rather than by human examiners. Several task types count towards more than one skill.
Who accepts PTE Academic?
It is accepted by many universities and institutions, but requirements differ. Check with the organisation you are applying to before you book.
How soon do I get my results?
Results typically arrive within a few days of your test.
How is PTE different from IELTS?
PTE is taken entirely on a computer and marked by AI, and it uses its own task types. You speak into a microphone rather than to an examiner.
How many weeks do I need?
It depends on your starting level and target score. Four weeks suits students already close to their target, eight weeks gives time to work on every task type, and twelve weeks adds a grammar and vocabulary foundation.
